About Us

Mindfulness means paying attention to what’s happening in the present moment in the mind, body and external environment, with an attitude of curiosity and kindness. (Kabat Zinn,1990) The aim of the Cass Mindfulness Society is to cultivate this innate human ability through exercising members capacity for awareness, attention, relationality and caring.

Happiness Becoming more self aware creates healthier relationships Feeling less stressed because you will learn how to self-soothe The objective of the society is to leverage mindfulness benefits at personal, interpersonal and social level and Increase students’ employability and career success through improving the following skills: (Cass Employability Framework, 2019). • Being: Drive for Result; Resilience and Reflection. • Relating: Networking and Relating; Influence and Impact. • Leading: Teaming and Collaboration; Leading and Developing Others. • Ethical Decision Making: Develop Ethical Business Thinking. Neuroscientific studies indicates that practicing mindfulness improves resiliency, by reducing stress, anger and rumination. At the same time it increases self-awareness, by boosting attention and emotions regulation. Mindfulness training is associated with improving positive outlook, empathy, sense of cohesion, self-compassion and overall quality of life. (Mindful Nation UK, 2015). It amplifies practitioners emotional intelligence with an impact on relationship, building on the abilities required for an inspirational leader (Goleman, 1995).
