Description

Tim co-founded Airtasker in 2011, where the idea was born out of his experience moving apartments. As with any move, a lot of work was involved, he needed to pack and move boxes, assemble flat pack furniture, so he asked his friend with a truck to help him. Later, Tim discovered that it was the fourth time someone had asked his friend to help because he had a truck! That got him thinking ‘why do we ask our friends and family for support when there are millions of people across Australia who would love to earn some extra cash?’ Since then, Airtasker has received approximately $63million in funding to date, employs 120 people and has partnerships in Australia with Ikea and Coles.

The former property investor is now targeting London as the first city outside of Australia to bring his sharing economy! As well as being responsible for the strategic marketing and business development of Airtasker, Tim is a founder and investor of several web businesses including amaysim, Joe Button and Circuit Club. He serves as a director at Tank Stream Ventures and previously worked for five years in Investment Banking at Macquarie Bank and Macquarie Capital Advisors. He also spent some time working as a Chic Management as a Talent agent.
